| Missing Money Can Be Found Money! |
I choose this video to highlight the Missing Money story because my wife and I received some unclaimed funds from the State of Missouri. We used to live
in Missouri and last year when a neighbor (Thanks Scott!) told us about MissingMoney.com and how his mother-in-law had received some unclaimed
property my wife investigated. The search showed there was some unclaimed property larger than $25 in her name. The initial inquiry with the state
verified that it was 300 shares of a stock we used to own from a company that had filed for bankruptcy. When they filed for bankruptcy the stock price
went to $0.(another one of my great stock picks!) Sometime during the bankruptcy process we closed the brokerage account and moved to a new house.
The financial institutions notices never reached us about the stock shares that we had been granted in the new company . It took six months of waiting
and filing a letter stating we never had possession of the original stock certificates but we were happy to finally receive a check for $2,518.17 from the
State of Missouri! Be sure to search each state you have lived in with each family members name. I hope you find some missing money!
